Appointment of the Governor of Queensland
Cabinet considered a submission from the Premier regarding the appointment of the Governor of Queensland.
Cabinet noted that Her Majesty the Queen had accepted the resignation of Her Excellency the Governor, Quentin Bryce AC on and from 29 July 2008.
Cabinet noted that Penelope Anne Wensley AO would be appointed as the 25th Governor of Queensland on and from 29 July 2008.

Qld Govt response to report of Qld 2020 Ideas to Action forum
Following the national Australia 2020 Summit in April, the Premier hosted a discussion of Queensland summit delegates on 15 May 2008. The aim of the forum was to identify which ideas from the national summit could be adopted in Queensland to meet our strategic challenges.
The report of the forum listed some 72 ideas for review, of which:

The Government published its Six month action plan July-December 2012 on 13 July 2012.
The Final report of the July-December 2012 six month action plan has now been prepared.

Summer Disaster Readiness 2012-13
It has been almost two years since Queensland experienced its summer of disasters. Based on the lessons learned from that time, preparation for the wet season commenced well in advance of the summer period.
